1940s onwards: First and Second Generation Geographers

When researching EGB's biography, I came across the phrase "second generation geographers". It seems that first generation geographers were those who went into academic geography departments from other subjects e.g. H J Fleure, whereas the arrival of geography degrees led to the second generation.... "proper geographers" perhaps....
