The first part of Tariq Jazeel's lecture mentions some overlap with the early days of the RGS-IBG.

The second half is by Professor Anson Mackay, whose specialist area is climate change and palaeoclimates. It's aimed at UCL students, but if you listen to the questions that Tariq poses, there is plenty there to consider when one thinks about the emergence of the subject discipline.
