Congratulations to Steve and Stephen
It was published in 2022 by Bloomsbury, and I was very kindly gifted a copy by the authors to mark my Presidency.
The book has just won a Global Dimension Award 2023 in the Teachers' Choice category.
The citation for the award read:
Sometimes all we need is a quick lesson plan and other times it's helpful to have a real deep dive into a topic. It’s easy to see why teachers favour this guide over other resources as it's just so comprehensive. Written by two highly experienced educators Stephen Scoffham and Steve Rawlinson this book contains advice for teaching sustainability issues across every subject between the ages of 3-14. With 180 age-specific activities, this is a treasure trove of inspiration and advice that every educator should possess.Thursday, 13 July 2023
GA Trustee Changes from 1st September 2023
As I move towards the final month and a bit of my GA Presidential journey, it's pleasing to finally see and be able to mention the changes that will take place from September the 1st this year.
Excited to see Professor Alastair Owens stepping up to be the next Chair of Trustees, replacing Olwen Lintern-Smyth (alongside his Past President role), and Bob Digby being replaced by Dr. John Hopkin, a former GA President in his Honorary Treasurer role.
There are also two people I've worked with previously taking over as elected trustees: Sophie Wilson and Rob Chambers.
Also looking forward to seeing where Denise Freeman's GA Presidency takes her, and the Association. Hina Robinson will also start her term as Vice President.Monday, 10 July 2023
Thanks Bob
A quick thanks to Bob Digby, who had his final Governing Body meeting recently after many years of supporting the Geographical Association as a trustee, named trustee and Honorary Treasurer.
Bob also served as President of the GA in 2012 of course.
Well, that’s it! Hanging up my @The_GA skates after 13 years on Gov Body. It’s been brilliant working with so many excellent trustees, & 2 CEOs. Promise yourself, #geographyteacher, that you’ll stand sometime for election & keep this great Association going strong. pic.twitter.com/787SasXnCn

Bob's entry on the GA Presidents Blog that I wrote is here.
He is also an examiner and author of many books which will have helped young people to exam success.
A reminder of the collage that Anne Greaves made of some of Bob's many interests back in 2012.
We will see Bob at GA Conferences and supporting the GA in many other ways too of course.

That’s it! 13 years on @The_GA Governing Body ends tonight. Thanks to an array of highly committed people, almost all of whom volunteered their time, with whom it’s been a privilege to work. It’s a fantastic organisation to work for!

From the archive - Dudley Stamp Memorial Service
I came across the details of Dudley Stamp's Memorial Service in one of the boxes of files.
It was held in November of 1966.
